Ms. Donna’s mom began KiddieLand before Donna was born, so essentially Ms. Donna has been working at KiddieLand her entire life. She took over leadership in 1995 and has been running the daycare since that time. Ms. Darlene began her career at KiddieLand in 1993 and has been involved in some way shape or form since that time. Ms. Donna and Ms. Darlene have been friends for ever and that friendship helps to make us the great team and we are the perfect combination of sugar and spice to run the daycare!!!!

Ms. Darlene has been with Kiddieland since 1994. She worked in every classroom within the center before moving up front and sharing the directors duties with Ms. Donna. Ms. Darlene has a TCC from Athens Technical College in Early Childhood Education. In her free time she enjoys reading mystery novels and watching cringy hallmark and lifetime movies. Her true passion has always been kids. She is very involved in her nieces and nephews lives as well as the lives of their precious children. No matter where she goes she always gravitates towards kids. While Ms. Darlene has a lot of special and fond memories of her time here at Kiddieland, one special memory that always sticks out is a picture one of her pre-k kids made for her sick mother back in 2009. That child has since moved on and graduated high school, yet Ms. Darlene still has that picture and the fond memories that it invokes from her relationships with these children.

Ms. Donna has been at Kiddieland her entire life. Her mom, Betty Cowan started Kiddieland when she was pregnant with Donna. Donna always knew that childcare and leadership was her passion from a young age when she would boss around her moms employees. She took over Kiddieland in 2000. Ms. Donna is married to Mr. Steven, who all the kids know by his stopping by to help fix things for his wife. Ms. Donna’s son Taylor who is 23 and fresh into the world of finance, worked many a summer here and most of the kids know him as well. Ms. Donna LOVES true crime and enjoys listening to podcasts as well as reading books. She loves knowing that the love and passion her mother had for providing the community a safe and loving place for their children that she has been able to continue that going strong for over 20 years.

The newest addition to our front office crew is Ms. Sarah, she has been with Kiddieland for going on two years now. She started in the classrooms as a floater working with all age groups and fell in love with Kiddieland almost immediately. What started as a part time job to get through cosmetology school (that’s right! she’s a licensed cosmetologist!) has turned into a passion and career. Ms. Sarah is now the Center Manager and oversees various things from day to day. She got her Associates degree in Applied Technical Management from Athens Technical College in 2024 and plans to go back for at least a TCC so she can stay with the center. Ms. Sarah has three children of her own, twins Tristan and Aurora attend the afterschool and summer program and her youngest Athena has been at Kiddieland since she was born in 2020! When they aren't at Kiddieland Ms. Sarah and her family enjoy going to the park, movies, the beach and arts and crafts!
